There once was a thing commonly known as “a walk”. To take a walk simply for pleasure, without a certain end station or purpose, was an ordinary activity. Today very few take a walk for any reason but to exercise or get from point A to point B. In Here whilst we walk the artists Andrea Sonnberger and Gustavo Ciríaco show what we are missing out on.
The audience is invited to take a walk together with Andrea and Gustavo and explore the city in a completely new way. Two things make this walk different from the ordinary: The walk is done in total silence and the group is surrounded by an elastic band. During the walk the environment alongside with its architecture, as well as the attention and behavior of the participants,
go through a constant change. The audience takes over the role of performer while it still remains an audience. Questions in the sense of what happens within the group, which positions people assume throughout the walk are just examples of questions that this performance normally provokes.

About Me

Rio de Janeiro. I am a performing artist and art maker coming from dance. I love to dialogue with the historical, material and affective context we are immersed in any given situation. As art form, my work goes from multimedia stage conceptual work to convivial and open-air pieces. It strikes me the awareness and fictions arising from the sublime of daily situations, its materiality, the reference points that we cling to and build up our relation to reality and how meaning grows from this. contacts: gustavociriaco@gmail.com | marine@elclimamola.com
